This is a small Chevron Amethyst Freeform that has been smoothed and polished to make a lovely display piece.

Amethyst is a purple variety of quartz.  The colouration comes from the presence of iron and gamma irradiation. It often occurs in volcanic rock in cavities created by gases.  Amethyst has been favoured by royalty throughout the ages and cultures such as the ancient Egyptians used amethyst in jewellery as a symbol of protection.

Amethyst is a popular crystal with many holistic attributes.  It is thought to aid meditation, calm emotions and bring balance.
