Aquamarine is actually part of the beryl family and usually forms as hexagonal crystals and is often referred to as the “colour-of-sea-water” stone. The lenses of the first eyeglasses constructed in 13th century Italy, were often made of beryl as glass could not be made clear enough.
Aquamarine is believed to protect from harm and promote safe travel, especially at sea. It is also considered to be a stone that encourages and helps you to find inspiration, optimism and individual expression.
