Jasper is an opaque rock which can be virtually any colour stemming from the mineral content of the original sediments. Patterns arise during the consolidation process in the rich sediment or volcanic ash. Fragmented rock produces brecciated jasper.
Said to be useful for controlling the emotions and a good stone for soothing the nerves.
Size – 20 to 25mm
Origin – South Africa
