Amethyst is a purple variety of quartz. The colouration comes from the presence of iron and gamma irradiation. Amethyst has been favoured by royalty throughout the ages.
Amethyst is a popular crystal with many holistic attributes. It is thought to aid meditation, calm emotions and bring balance.
